Salut!

Hello all!  My name is Jessica, and this blog was about a year in the making.  I am so excited that I finally created this blog.  I am hoping to share some of my favourite recipes and culinary tips as well as learn from any one who reads this.

A little bit about me: I am an 18 year old pre-law and French student.  Like most 18 year olds, I haven’t the slightest clue as to where my life is taking me - not only do I not know what kind of lawyer I want to be, I don’t even know if this field is right for me. All I know is that I enjoy bitching people out when they are wrong in any context - especially in kitchen.  Perhaps law is the field for me, or this could mean that I am actually Gordon Ramsay’s protege.  I have always been told that I would make a good lawyer, so I thought I owed it to myself study law to see if this actually was my calling.  What does this have to do with starting a food blog?  Food has always been a passion of mine from a very young age.  My mom is the greatest cook on the planet Earth, my brother Jason makes the best chocolate chip cookies on the planet, my other brother Jacob’s almond mocha torte is divine and my dad’s adventurous culinary side makes me believe he was once an Iron Chef.  My extended family are also culinarily gifted and some are also gifted when it comes to presentation.  Growing up and being surrounded by talented cooks, beautifully presented food as well as growing up in a city as diverse as Toronto, I gained my passion for food, as well as a curiosity and an appreciation for different flavours and worldly cuisines.  This blog is my way of keeping my dream of being… something in the culinary industry alive as well as becoming a better and better home cook by learning from all of you readers (if you’re out there).

This blog will be my recipes, reviews of recipes that I’ve seen on t.v. (be prepared to laugh at my recreations of dishes of seen on Iron Chef America - if I am feeling adventurous and brave, maybe things Iron Chef Morimoto has made).  I hope you tumblrchefs enjoy!
